Beating the odds scholarship essay

On December 17, 1999 my entire family immigrated to the United States. We did so mainly for religious reasons since the people of Uzbekistan, a former part of the Soviet Republic and my country of origin, are much less tolerant of Jews than Americans are. The Beat the Odds Scholarship Awards Program is designed to highlight the incredible potential of Oregon's young people as well as the challenges which prevent too many of them from succeeding.

Started in 1990, the program identifies and rewards young people who have experienced significant hardship in their lives and supports and trains them to The Beat the Odds scholarship winners for 2017 Caleb Ricks, Jessica Nelson, Jawaher Binhamoodan, Mikayla Brainard, and Isaac Williams.

Beat the Odds Scholarship (O) Every year, Stand for Children offers the Beat the Odds Scholarship as an opportunity to celebrate the achievements of inspiring high school seniors who overcome tremendous obstacles on their path to graduation day.

This scholarship is sponsored by Stand for Children Leadership Center. Three winners will be selected to receive the 2, 500 awards for academic year. Please note all candidates must be students enrolled in an Oregon Stand for Childrens is providing the scholarship for Oregon public high school students named as The Beat the Odds Scholarship.

The student, enrolled in an Oregon public high school who will graduate in June 2018 are eligible to apply for the scholarship. The Beat the Odds scholarship program honors outstanding high school students who have overcome tremendous adversity in life to achieve academic excellence, demonstrate leadership in their communities and aspire to attend college.
